The new Cadence Community enhances the ability of Cadence users to connect and collaborate. In addition to moving the community into cadence.com -- enabling single sign-on for community, Sourcelink and Cadence events -- the new site is organized around nine technology segments, giving you easy access to product information, training, forums and blogs. Registration note: Due to the scope of the enhancements and the new SSO registration system, we were not able to migrate existing cdnusers.org member accounts. So new registrations are required, but this enables a broader set of functionality we think you'll enjoy.

Forum note: Under the guidance of forum moderators, we have taken the 20+ cdnusers.org forums and consolidated them into 11 forums on the new site. Posts have been brought over so you can leverage that posting history. CDNusers forums will be set to read only starting 7/30, and cdnusers.org will be redirected to the new community on 8/4.

I am somewhat confuse about Model selector keyword in IBIS.

How can it will be useful it in spectraquest?

When you have the model selector set up in IBIS, ibis2signoise will translate them into DML automatically.

Assign this model to a part in Allegro PCB SI. In the model assignment dialog, click RefDesPins. Next to "Signal Model" field, there is "Prog. Buffer ->". You should see the programmable buffers (Model Selector) right there.

Thank you for your answer. We realize the model selection feature in PCB SI. How about the feature of multiple-pin model assignment? It means we need to assign the same kind of buffer model for many pins in one time. Thank you for your helps in advance.

At this time, you have to do this pin by pin.
Id this often heppenning to a lot of pins set together?

Dear Lance.

Sure. You can image if your would like to perform corner test for FSB. There are totally 64 data bits plus 4 strobe lines. The feature is indeed necessary.

If you are looking to change a number of IOCells in an IBISDevice that is already in a dml file, then you can use the Device Model Editor to assign a IOCell to a whole group of pins easily. From the model assign form (assuming you have already assigned the model) select the device you want to change, edit it. This will open the IBIS Device Model Editor. Click on the Assign Signal Pins tab, then you can can use the filters to select by netname, IOCell assigned, pin #...

Once filtered, select them all to move to the lower pane of the form, then browse to find the IOCell you want to assign, click the Assign button, then deselect them all to move back to the top pane. Save the model.

If you open the form from the library as opposed to the model assign, it works the same, except you will not be able to use the netname as a filter, since it isn't known at the lib level.
