Many of you already received communications about the move of the Cadence user community into cadence.com. And many of you have already joined, with over 4000 registrations in the first two weeks.

The new Cadence Community enhances the ability of Cadence users to connect and collaborate. In addition to moving the community into cadence.com -- enabling single sign-on for community, Sourcelink and Cadence events -- the new site is organized around nine technology segments, giving you easy access to product information, training, forums and blogs. Some of the new features include:

  • Latest Web 2.0 social networking capabilities
  • Public profile options
  • Private messaging
  • Friends lists

Registration note: Due to the scope of the enhancements and the new SSO registration system, we were not able to migrate existing cdnusers.org member accounts. So new registrations are required, but this enables a broader set of functionality we think you'll enjoy.

Forum note: Under the guidance of forum moderators, we have taken the 20+ cdnusers.org forums and consolidated them into 11 forums on the new site. Posts have been brought over so you can leverage that posting history. CDNusers forums will be set to read only starting 7/30, and cdnusers.org will be redirected to the new community on 8/4.

We are in need of useful references and tutorials on RTL Compiler.

Our company has dumped the 1000's of man years we have on Synopsys and none of us have a real clue about RTL Compiler.

Where's the documents.

I saw your post on the forum and thought it best if I reply. I am the co-moderator of this forum, and also the Core Comp AE Manager for RTL-Compiler at Cadence. We have a number of ways we can help you get up to speed on RTL-Compiler including jumpstarts, Rapid Adoption Kits, documentation, and assistance from our AE team. The documentation for RC should be availble to you as part of the purchase of the tool. I'd suggest checking with your internal people to see where they are posted. As for the other training materials, these are meant to be delivered by our AE team and are not publically available otherwise. Please let me know what we can do to assist in your transition.

have you tried http://sourcelink.cadence.com ?
This is similar to solvenet on the Synopsys side of things.
I have to confess when I first tried RC it took some getting used to it after developing DC scripts and infrastructure for a substantial chunk of my career. Currently I have to say I like RC better. The use model is simpler and if/when you need to script, the database is much more intuitive and accessible. Ultimately the results are better which tops any of the other criteria. Anyhow, I digress - I think sourcelink and the docs are a decent place for the info you are looking for.
