Many of you already received communications about the move of the Cadence user community into cadence.com. And many of you have already joined, with over 4000 registrations in the first two weeks.

The new Cadence Community enhances the ability of Cadence users to connect and collaborate. In addition to moving the community into cadence.com -- enabling single sign-on for community, Sourcelink and Cadence events -- the new site is organized around nine technology segments, giving you easy access to product information, training, forums and blogs. Some of the new features include:
  • Ability to respond to posts via e-mail
  • Technology-specific blogs
  • Latest Web 2.0 social networking capabilities
  • Public profile options
  • Private messaging
  • Friends lists
Visit the new Cadence Community today at www.cadence.com/community and join the discussions!

Registration note: Due to the scope of the enhancements and the new SSO registration system, we were not able to migrate existing cdnusers.org member accounts. So new registrations are required, but this enables a broader set of functionality we think you'll enjoy.

Forum note: Under the guidance of forum moderators, we have taken the 20+ cdnusers.org forums and consolidated them into 11 forums on the new site. Posts have been brought over so you can leverage that posting history. CDNusers forums will be set to read only starting 7/30, and cdnusers.org will be redirected to the new community on 8/4.

Best regards,
Mike and Tom

Hi Guys,

I got one problem when I ran lec in batch mode:

$> lec -nogui -ultra -dofile mc_lec.do

In mc_lec.do file, the last command is : exit -f

But somehow, xterm pops up the following messages:

// Command: report message -compare -verbose > reports/mcv2/lec.cmpmsg
// Command: report compare data -class noneq > reports/mcv2/lec.noneq
// Command: report unmapped points -Extra -notmapped > reports/mcv2/lec.notmap
// Command: report compare data -class abort > reports/mcv2/lec.abort
// Command: exit -force
// ERROR [Internal]:
// Exit and report the error to Cadence Customer Support

and can't go back to normal tcsh mode..

And I can't use CTR^C and CTR^X to exit...

Does anyone have the same problem?

Thanks

James

Hi James

Uhm, not something I have seen before. Can you kill the process from another window?

What version and OS are you running? Current latest is 07.10-p100.

Is a .lec_dump_stack file created? (do ls -a) If so, can you send it in to mailto:support@cadence.com?

Thanks, Chrystian!

The tool version: lec 06.20-p100 . It seems not the lastest one. And OS is linux RedHat 6.1
The .lec_dump_stack file is empty, nothing there.

Actually, the process is finished already. But the proc can't return to normal xterm mode and just hangs in there...

Hi James

I just looked at our OS support matrix and I can't find RedHat 6.1 mentioned. The matrix starts at 4.3 (4 years ago). From 4.3 to 5.2, Red Hat support was for 7.x, 8.0, and 9.0.

Anyway you can run on a machine with a more recent OS? Current supported is EE3.0 and RHEL4.0.

I would also give 07.10-p100 a shot if you can.

Hi Chrystian,

Sorry for the misleading info. After try 'uname -a', I got the following msg related to my linux:
"Linux ltis825 2.4.21-32.ELhugemem #1 SMP Fri Apr 15 21:04:31 EDT 2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux"

I can use CTRL^Z to stop the process and kill that proc later. I am not sure if there are some problems related memory release when LEC exit from the batch mode..
