The new Cadence Community enhances the ability of Cadence users to connect and collaborate. In addition to moving the community into cadence.com -- enabling single sign-on for community, Sourcelink and Cadence events -- the new site is organized around nine technology segments, giving you easy access to product information, training, forums and blogs. Registration note: Due to the scope of the enhancements and the new SSO registration system, we were not able to migrate existing cdnusers.org member accounts. So new registrations are required, but this enables a broader set of functionality we think you'll enjoy.

Forum note: Under the guidance of forum moderators, we have taken the 20+ cdnusers.org forums and consolidated them into 11 forums on the new site. Posts have been brought over so you can leverage that posting history. CDNusers forums will be set to read only starting 7/30, and cdnusers.org will be redirected to the new community on 8/4.

Subject: Auto_Silkscreen escaped when met draft symbol

Has anyone use the Auto_Silkscreen command to create silkscreen?
I have a problem for this command. because I have some draft type symols which no refdes, I can't run Auto_Silkscreen after generating draft symol.
But it's OK, before generating draft symol and after deleting these symbols.

Does the Auto_Silkscreen command has limit ?



Note:
1. Auto_Silkscreen: in Allegro menu: Manufacture>silkscreen...
2. The draft symobl is like as Gerber name, format chart, figure...

I use autosilk and it works fine.
On what layer is located your drawing? (i draw notes and drawings on boad_geometry/silkscreen_top{bottom} and i care to avoid vias and pins because i autosil only package_geometry/silkscreen_top{bottom}.

what parameters do you use?

I have many format symbols. they are in the MANUFACTURING's subclass which created by SKILL routine. For example, MANUFACTURING/F_BOARDO,  MANUFACTURING/TXT_LABEL_29.

I have tried with many different Auto_Silkscreen parameters. it works only under deletling these symbols. and it's ok before generating these symbols.

Turn off or change to silk the classes and subclasses that apply to your manufacturing subclass in the Auto Silkscreen layer that your format symbols are on.  Then add the manufacturing subclass layer your format symbols are on to the appropriate film in the "Artwork Control From."
 
Typically, I do the above to all my REFDES as a general rule because I do not want them moved and autosilk gets done faster.
