Many of you already received communications about the move of the Cadence user community into cadence.com. And many of you have already joined, with over 4000 registrations in the first two weeks.

The new Cadence Community enhances the ability of Cadence users to connect and collaborate. In addition to moving the community into cadence.com -- enabling single sign-on for community, Sourcelink and Cadence events -- the new site is organized around nine technology segments, giving you easy access to product information, training, forums and blogs. Some of the new features include:
 • Ability to respond to posts via e-mail
 • Technology-specific blogs
 • Latest Web 2.0 social networking capabilities
 • Public profile options
 • Private messaging
 • Friends lists
Visit the new Cadence Community today at www.cadence.com/community and join the discussions!

Registration note: Due to the scope of the enhancements and the new SSO registration system, we were not able to migrate existing cdnusers.org member accounts. So new registrations are required, but this enables a broader set of functionality we think you'll enjoy.

Forum note: Under the guidance of forum moderators, we have taken the 20+ cdnusers.org forums and consolidated them into 11 forums on the new site. Posts have been brought over so you can leverage that posting history. CDNusers forums will be set to read only starting 7/30, and cdnusers.org will be redirected to the new community on 8/4.

Best regards,
Mike and Tom

Hello all. I have a board done in 15.5.1 with diff pairs constraints. 0 DRCs with uncoupled length, impedances... I open it on 15.7 and now I got 860DRCs with both uncoupled length and phase tolerance. I checked, all values are the same, DRC mode the same (enabled for what I need...) Any idea (except keep it on 15.5.1, what I'll probably do) to correct this? Thanks in advance.

I consider this an annoying bug when updating some 15.5 designs into 15.7.
You might have to wiggle all the traces to get them to flush out the DRC's. This kind of thing happens to me occasionally on even smaller designs.
Either that or rerun DRC???

We've seen a similar thing when moving between different tool levels within the same release - a DRC free board will acquire many DRCs that could be a matter of just 0.001mm.  Looks like a rounding issue.

One reason we never upgrade in mid-project...

Yes but the problem will remain if you have to modify this old design after upgrading....
It is probably a rounding issue like you suggested.
I occurs without any changes, only a new DRC check.
I found this kind of things really annoying for such a big software like Cadence....

I found today something really nice: ! exclamation symbol is no more allowed in Allegro texts since 15.5.1.
I found on sourcelink, it is not a bug but a kind of "software enhancement".
Some database become corrupted when texts contained !, so to avoid this (instead of looking why it happens), Cadence has just disallowed ! in texts. It's already the only one soft I know that can not handle symbol caracters!... even small other cad soft can do that!
And what about nice toolbar icons on 15.7 (graphic cards and monitors can support better than this today! ;-)..

Only new features/enhancement are acceptable.

Have a nice day.

True - but that's after the deadline :-)

... and transparent colours, and spaces anywhere in the pathlist etc. etc.
