Many of you already received communications about the move of the Cadence user community into cadence.com. And many of you have already joined, with over 4000 registrations in the first two weeks.

The new Cadence Community enhances the ability of Cadence users to connect and collaborate. In addition to moving the community into cadence.com -- enabling single sign-on for community, Sourcelink and Cadence events -- the new site is organized around nine technology segments, giving you easy access to product information, training, forums and blogs. Some of the new features include:
  • Ability to respond to posts via e-mail
  • Technology-specific blogs
  • Latest Web 2.0 social networking capabilities
  • Public profile options
  • Private messaging
  • Friends lists
Visit the new Cadence Community today at www.cadence.com/community and join the discussions!

Registration note: Due to the scope of the enhancements and the new SSO registration system, we were not able to migrate existing cdnusers.org member accounts. So new registrations are required, but this enables a broader set of functionality we think you'll enjoy.

Forum note: Under the guidance of forum moderators, we have taken the 20+ cdnusers.org forums and consolidated them into 11 forums on the new site. Posts have been brought over so you can leverage that posting history. CDNusers forums will be set to read only starting 7/30, and cdnusers.org will be redirected to the new community on 8/4.

Best regards,
Mike and Tom

I'm having no luck installing 16.0. I keep getting this error message:

The procedure entry point RWSetO2K3Color could not be located in the dynamic link library RWUXThemeS.dll

This what I tried to do to get this to install:

1) I made sure all previous editions of Allegro were flushed from my machine including references in the registry.
2) I un-installed the software (twice) and re-installed.
3) Obtained copy of the offending .dll and copied in.

Has anyone seen this and if so , what is the fix? My system is WinXP Pro,1G memory, and a 521MB DDR card(ATI Radeon 1650 Pro) Video card was bought specifically to support OpenGL.

Thanx,

Ron Scott

This is probably better handled by Cadence support. I had no issues installing 16.0 and neither have any of my team.

I ran into this issue. See solution # 11349206 on sourcelink. In short add your pointer to SPB160\tools\bin earlier in your environment path.

I referred to your solution and that was indeed the problem. There were 4 like named .dll in the PATH variable.

Thanks,

Ron Scott

We run, on same machines:(win xp)
13.6
14.2
15.2
15.5
15.5.1
15.7
16.0

No problem with versioning. Just have to set right variable (CDS_ROOT and so on...) to use the right version.

All installed in server-client mode (sofware is on disk server; cleint just run the sofware: so maintain sofware up to date is easy on one shot)

You can install the latest HotFix to correct this issue. Unfortunately, numerous applications rely on this DLL and the contents may differ even though the reported version number may be the same, so moving entries around the path may break other applications.
