Many of you already received communications about the move of the Cadence user community into cadence.com. And many of you have already joined, with over 4000 registrations in the first two weeks.

The new Cadence Community enhances the ability of Cadence users to connect and collaborate. In addition to moving the community into cadence.com -- enabling single sign-on for community, Sourcelink and Cadence events -- the new site is organized around nine technology segments, giving you easy access to product information, training, forums and blogs. Some of the new features include:
  • Ability to respond to posts via e-mail
  • Technology-specific blogs
  • Latest Web 2.0 social networking capabilities
  • Public profile options
  • Private messaging
  • Friends lists
Visit the new Cadence Community today at www.cadence.com/community and join the discussions!

Registration note: Due to the scope of the enhancements and the new SSO registration system, we were not able to migrate existing cdnusers.org member accounts. So new registrations are required, but this enables a broader set of functionality we think you'll enjoy.

Forum note: Under the guidance of forum moderators, we have taken the 20+ cdnusers.org forums and consolidated them into 11 forums on the new site. Posts have been brought over so you can leverage that posting history. CDNusers forums will be set to read only starting 7/30, and cdnusers.org will be redirected to the new community on 8/4.

Best regards,
Mike and Tom

Hi!

I heard that there was the plan to include some code for turning all "check that" statements into coverage points in SN 5 but I can't find it in the docu.
Has this been included yet ?
Or can somebody provide the patch code for this feature ?

Regards
Christian

Hello Christian,

we have a package which contains this functionality. It was developed by an AE (ex-R&D) and relied to some degree on internal Specman functionality. Therefore the package only works with the Specman 4.3x versions. We are currently working on a general coverage solution which will also include this coverage. Before this will be available, we will provide a new version of the original package in Specman 6.1 (planned to be released in April 2007).

Hello All,

please find attached an updated version of an old shareware which covers temporal checks ("expect") and instant checks ("check that"). This works for Specman 6.0 onwards.

Please make sure to read the documentation, especially the limitations. The shareware is a temporary solution and we have plans to provide detailed assertion and checker coverage.

Hi Hannes,

Have there been any updates to the assertion and checker coverage package? Can we expect such functionality to be part of a specman release, and if so, when?

Iraklis.

Hello Iraklis,

this is part of the 2008 plans, in conjunction with an overall focus on assertions in our plan driven verification flow. We are currently in the analysis/budgeting phase, so I currently can not comment on whether this will be in the first or second half of 2008.

Hello All,

we found an issue last week with using this package with the AHB eVC.
R&D kindly fixed the issue straight away, so the attached new version works
with the AHB UVC version 2.3.

Hello All,

we found another issue last week and R&D kindly fixed the issue straight away.
Please find attached a new version (this has been tested with 6.2).

Also, in SPMN8.1 Specman will natively support collection of check/expect results
(checked, finished and failed counters for each check/expect). Have a look in the
release notes for more details (SPMN 8.1 is planned to be released end of May-08)

Regards,
-hannes
