Many of you already received communications about the move of the Cadence user community into cadence.com. And many of you have already joined, with over 4000 registrations in the first two weeks.

The new Cadence Community enhances the ability of Cadence users to connect and collaborate. In addition to moving the community into cadence.com -- enabling single sign-on for community, Sourcelink and Cadence events -- the new site is organized around nine technology segments, giving you easy access to product information, training, forums and blogs. Some of the new features include:

  • Latest Web 2.0 social networking capabilities
  • Public profile options
  • Private messaging

Registration note: Due to the scope of the enhancements and the new SSO registration system, we were not able to migrate existing cdnusers.org member accounts. So new registrations are required, but this enables a broader set of functionality we think you'll enjoy.

Forum note: Under the guidance of forum moderators, we have taken the 20+ cdnusers.org forums and consolidated them into 11 forums on the new site. Posts have been brought over so you can leverage that posting history. CDNusers forums will be set to read only starting 7/30, and cdnusers.org will be redirected to the new community on 8/4.

Position Description

We need an experienced and capable engineer experienced in Digital Design Implementation and/or strong background in technical computer science with the option to do his Ph.D. The engineer preferably already has good design experiences in the Digital domain, high level System description.
The engineer should be very willing to learn new stuff and a high interest in bridging research to industrial application.

Key Accountabilities

• Ability to plan IC specification concepts, to understand the design process and to handle functional verification, preferrably in the digital domain

• Ability to plan, to manage and to execute a research related project

• Ability to represent the project internally and externally

• Working on multi person projects of varying complexity, working especially in a multi-cultural project. The latter requires good communication skills in English

Position Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

• Masters/Diploma degree (or similar) in electrical engineering, microelectronics, comparable engineering science or computer science

Essential Experience:

• Theoretical understanding of Integrated Circuits

• Knowledge of modeling in C++, SystemC, UML and XML

• Theoretical understanding of logic design, electronic system level design

• Interest and ability to learn how to develop tools and flows in the electronic system level domain

Desirable Experience:

• Knowledge of modeling and simulation of digital circuits

• Knowledge requirements of automotive and/or communication applications.

• Experience with Eclipse, and knowledge in using Python or Perl script languages or Java

• Knowing Methodology of IP-Xact, FIBEX

Other Skills:

• Ability to execute autonomously a task

• Solid knowledge in UNIX/Linux (application experience) and PC applications

• Proven experience in project management in multi person projects, project planning

• At least sufficient in oral and written English and perfect in German

• Good general communication skills, willing and interested in working in a multi-national/-cultural environment
