Many of you already received communications about the move of the Cadence user community into cadence.com. And many of you have already joined, with over 4000 registrations in the first two weeks.

The new Cadence Community enhances the ability of Cadence users to connect and collaborate. In addition to moving the community into cadence.com -- enabling single sign-on for community, Sourcelink and Cadence events -- the new site is organized around nine technology segments, giving you easy access to product information, training, forums and blogs. Some of the new features include:
  • Ability to respond to posts via e-mail
  • Technology-specific blogs
  • Latest Web 2.0 social networking capabilities
  • Public profile options
  • Private messaging
  • Friends lists
Visit the new Cadence Community today at www.cadence.com/community and join the discussions!

Registration note: Due to the scope of the enhancements and the new SSO registration system, we were not able to migrate existing cdnusers.org member accounts. So new registrations are required, but this enables a broader set of functionality we think you'll enjoy.

Forum note: Under the guidance of forum moderators, we have taken the 20+ cdnusers.org forums and consolidated them into 11 forums on the new site. Posts have been brought over so you can leverage that posting history. CDNusers forums will be set to read only starting 7/30, and cdnusers.org will be redirected to the new community on 8/4.

Best regards,
Mike and Tom

Where is the "Allegro" forum? How about a section for Allegro pcb design/issues/fixes/etc?

Pitbull,

The forums for Allegro are under the heading "Silicon-package-board".

Hi,

I discovered this forum yesterday. It looks promising to me. Do you have ability to send e-mail digests of forums once a day? If not can it be added?

Thanks,
Nitin

Nitin,

There is a nice email subscription capability in the forums that allows you to get email notification of posts forum by forum. Once logged in. you will see the ability to check "Email me when someone posts to this forum". Also, you can manage your forum subscriptions by going to your forum profile and the 'Subscriptions' tab.

Regarding your 'digest' question, this is an interesting idea and one we will take into consideration.

Nanda,

I am unclear what you mean by your request #1.

However, request #2 we are responding to - you will see some options for rich text soon.

thanks again for your comments

Is there a way to mark all posts as read?

Hi Vertreko,

thank you for the question.  Yes, there is a way to mark all read threads.

When you are on the "home" page of any forum, to the left of each thread is an icon of a page.  Unread threads have a red starburst in the upper left corner of the page icon.

As you read each thread, the starburst goes away.

On the "home" page of each forum category, e.g. Custom IC, Functional Verification, you will see a "folder" icon.  If there is a red starburst on the folder, there are unread threads in that forum.

If you want to mark all threads as "read"  click on the link at the bottom of each forum that reads "mark all read"

Enjoy

Thanks for the tip on marking stuff read. Another suggestion: add a forum (maybe under "General Topics"?) where people can discuss their impressions of CDNLive.

Comments about CDNlive! papers and presentations can be posted to the appropriate forum where others  would be intereseted in your comments.

What about comments about the event itself (e.g. keynote addresses, badge technology, music reviews of the Chad Tuckers)?

I observed so many unanswerred questions are there. For these questions , after some time (with in one week or..) if no body answered, then moderator needs to provide the answer. it is just suggestion.

Hello,

My apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I totally agree with you. And this is something I'm working to address. Meantime, in answer to your question, the orcad forums are here:
