Q. Tell us about your background.
First I am glad to be a member of your user community taking advantage of exchanging ideas for solving problems and getting more from Cadence technology.

I am basically from South India (Hyderabad), currently I am living in Tokyo and working for TOSHIBA microelectronic center Japan.

In 2000 I graduated in electronics and communication engineer from Madras University. After working 2 years in Avant! –India as a Design engineer, I was offered a job in TOSHIBA as a senior design engineer. Initial days in Tokyo were a nightmare because I didn’t know many words of Japanese. My colleagues helped me a lot in the initial days and they also liked to learn English.

Now in my department many Japanese manage to speak English.


Q. Do you have hobbies, if so what?
During my college days by profession I have a hobby of making electronic circuits for various applications. Aside I like playing cricket and soccer.

Q. What type of music do you listen to?
I like south Indian classic music, keeps me refreshed.

Q. Where have you traveled - for work or pleasure
On the course of my work I have traveled to California (CA)., China , Taiwan and different parts of Japan.

Q. What aspect of your work are you most passionate about?
The right mix of talent, training and experience that allows me to serve the needs of our project execution and a great environment for the growth of our design team.

Q. What are your biggest design challenges?
I was responsible for design execution on several projects in various technologies. Selection and qualification of IP is rapidly becoming the biggest challenge in ASIC.

Q. Which Cadence tools do you work with?
In TOSHIBA Japan I executed several tape-outs on full Encounter DIGITAL IC design platform like
  1. Soc Encounter package
  2. Encounter conformal
  3. Celtic NDC
  4. Nano route Ultra
  5. VoltageStrom
  6. Fire & Ice Qx
