Q. Tell us about your background.
Kai-Yu: I am a Back-End Design / Methodology Engineer. I am in the Consumer Product Group at LSI. I have been here for more than 5 years.
Over the years, technology has being improving from 180nm to 130nm to 90nm and 65nm. My main function at LSI is to deal with the physical back-end process from Physical Verifications, Extraction, Simulation, various analysis (Timing, Power, Noise, Clock, Global Buses), and to tapeout flows.
Q. Tell us about your family, your hobbies, what you do in your spare time, what type of music to you listen to, where have you traveled
I usually like to watch movies, watch Football/Basketball games and read some books. I like outdoor activities like hiking, swimming and fine dining. I like light, not too loud music. This helps my mind to relax from the high-tech working environment.
I love to travel when times permits. Usually travel to Asia and in North America.
Q. Tell us what you do at your company, what aspect of your work are you most passionate about?
I am at LSI Logic and recently became fabless. Learning new physical challenges in the latest technology node and finding ways to resolve them to improve design flow.
I love to find the best ways to resolve these issues and which tool has the capability to resolve them.
